Taking On Your 2018 Fitness Routine

Published January 2nd, 2018 by Dr. Markson

With the arrival of the New Year, gyms and health centers will see an increase in traffic as many rush to renew their commitment to physical fitness. It is great to set goals, and a new year is a great time to start fresh. As proponents of natural health, we know that regular exercise is incredibly important.

However, if you haven't maintained a regular fitness routine, jumping back in to exercise too quickly or intensely often leads to injury. This is because overused muscles can lead to injury and scar tissue, causing pain and restricting motion.

Take It Slow

Setting personal goals is a fantastic way to stay motivated, but make sure they are attainable. Try to avoid the expectation that fitness will be achieved this week or this month. Pay attention to your body. The race to fitness is a marathon, not a sprint and takes time. Allow your muscles, joints, ligaments, and tendons time to adapt to the new challenges you are presenting your body, and they will! When you are patient with your body, you will see your body firm, stretch, and strengthen as you regain vitality.

Include patience as part of your fitness plan inn 2018. Don't think of your fitness journey as a zero to 100 adventure. By paying attention to your body, you can avoid start-up injuries, which will cause unnecessary setbacks in your fitness goals. In addition to your fitness goals, consider regular chiropractic visits, which will help keep your body balanced and on track.
