Summer Break Preparation Tips

Published June 15th, 2021 by Dr. Hoder

Whether your kids are out of school already or they are about to be out, there is significant planning that needs to go into your summer break. With most people opting out of summer camps this year, a lot of kids are staying home with mom and dad for the first time in a while. Here are some of our tips for creating engaging summer activities for kids and maximizing their (and your) summer fun.

Our Favorite Activity

The first and most important tip we can give you is to stay home this summer. Not only does it help your wallet, but it also can build stronger relationships when done right. Our favorite activity to do with kids this summer is to help them transform a room, or even your entire backyard into a whole new world using items from your house. This activity has huge potential for continuous nights with laughter to spare and character building for every member of the family. What’s more, is that it can help you find your inner child again.

Other Summer Activities for Kids

Having kids is often hard work with some laughter sprinkled in, which is what makes summer break so much fun. This out-back activity is designed to let you work alongside your child to create something new together. Much like our Earth Day activities, there are hidden exercises within the challenge of building your new fantasy world.

If you have not already begun preparations for your activities this summer, you should begin as soon as possible. Utilize wall push-ups and crunches to begin building strength and start cardio to work on your stamina before the activities. Meanwhile, during the events, make sure to sneak in some lower back stretches and calming breaths when you get the chance.
