Dad, Do You Maintain Proper Posture?

It is the month of June, which means it's time for Father's Day! We at Markson Chiropractic love and appreciate all the dads out there. So, we wanted to share some tips on ergonomically completing projects around the house and the benefits of chiropractic care that specifically help the dads out there. Check out these tips to help dad maintain optimal health and make June a great month!

Always Maintain Proper Posture

When doing different projects around the house, it is important to have proper posture and lifting form. While we all want to get our "honey-do" lists done as quickly as possible, we also do not want to get hurt doing it! So for all the dads out there, please lift with your legs, not your back. Do not "bite off more than you can chew" as far as lifting. If something is too heavy, get help or use a hand truck. If you have a history of a "bad back," invest in a lumbar belt to give yourself more support. Try to not look down for prolonged periods of time to avoid straining your neck. It is better to keep everything at eye level.
