Why I Am Grateful for Chiropractic

Published November 23rd, 2021 by Dr. Daner

Everyone has their story about why they are grateful for chiropractic. Whether it is because it changed your life because it allowed you to resume working out, cleared up your migraines, or it provided back pain relief, we all have particular reasons why we are grateful and why we love chiropractic care. Personally, I have an interesting story (at least I think it is) on how chiropractic changed my life in a few different ways and why I am so grateful for it.

The Story Behind It All

In 1999, I had just graduated from the University of Florida with a major in History. I loved my major, but unfortunately, there was not much else to do starting but to teach. My mother and grandmother were both teachers. I, however, was not a huge fan of teaching. I was teaching middle school, and it was very challenging. Middle school kids are tough! So in a certain sense, I was looking for something else to do without really looking, if that makes sense. Then one morning, on my way to work, I got rear-ended on the corner of Broward and Nob Hill. It was a pretty significant accident. After a day or so of unbearable pain, my mother suggested that I see her chiropractor. I had never been to one, and I just assumed my mother was being crazy as usual. I reluctantly went to see her, and within two (two!) visits,  I experienced pain relief by more than 50%. After that, I talked to my friend in chiropractic school and ended up going up to visit….and the rest is history! Basically, getting in a bad accident led me to become a chiropractor.

Chiropractic Is Life-Changing

For most of my life leading up to going to chiropractic school, I suffered from nasal issues. Many times one nostril was clogged or both, and I had trouble breathing out of my nose at times. I went to several doctors growing up, with diagnoses such as “Sinusitis” or a deviated septum, amongst other things. No one did anything other than prescribe me medicine, which rarely made much of a difference. After starting chiropractic school and getting adjusted regularly, I noticed that my nasal/allergy/breathing issues COMPLETELY disappeared within a few months. It was incredible and life-changing. To this day, I do not have breathing issues of any kind!

Chiropractic can change your life in so many ways. In many cases (such as mine), chiropractic care can help with issues that you wouldn’t even consider. So in a sense, I am grateful that I got rear-ended all those years ago, so I could see and experience the fantastic potential of chiropractic!
