How to Prevent Halloween Back Pain

Published October 30th, 2018 by Dr. Hoder

Halloween is finally here! You may be mentally prepared for a night of trick-or-treating, but are your back and feet ready? We’ve put together some tips to prevent back pain as you and your little ones take off for a night of trick-or-treating!

Bring a Stroller for your Little Ones

As a parent coming to our practice, you already know the tips and tricks for avoiding back pain, so don’t forget that stroller! Being on your feet for an extended period of time can be tough for adults, and even more so for young children. Strollers are a great tool for preventing back pain when your little monster just can’t walk anymore. Rather than assume your child can make the trek from house to house collecting treats, do yourself a favor and bring along the stroller.

Call for Comfortable shoes

You might be rocking your best costume to date, but don’t let footwear go ignored. When you hit the streets, you’ll want to be in comfortable and supportive shoes. If you wear shoes that alter your stride, you can cause pain to your spine, or even injury. One of the best ways to prevent back pain is to make sure your feet are as comfortable as possible. When you start planning your Halloween costume, make sure it includes a comfortable pair of shoes for your trek through town!
