3 Ways to Tackle Your Neck Pain

Published October 11th, 2016 by Dr. Hoder

When neck pain strikes, it can stop your whole day. It's important to take immediate action toward a speedy recovery. Neck pain can be caused by a number of things from the obvious car accident to repeatedly sitting at your desk day in and day out.

Untreated neck pain usually leads to:

  • Chronic stiffness and pain in the neck

  • Tenderness in the muscles and tendons

  • Migraines and tension headaches

  • Limited range of motion

  • Tingling or numbness in your arms and hands

No matter how your neck pain is showcasing itself, you'll want to begin treating it immediately. Here's what you can do:

Rest

Rest may seem like a foreign concept to most of us, but if you want to reduce soreness and stiffness (which helps speed up healing), then rest your neck by lying down for a bit.

Stretching and Massage

Stretching is a great way to alleviate a stiff neck. Just don't overdo it. Make sure to complete the motions slowly and not to push yourself too far, which will likely worsen your condition. If you want deeper relief, schedule a massage in our office.

Chiropractic Treatment

Last, but not least, try chiropractic treatment as well. For complete relief from your neck pain, chiropractic is a must. We will help alleviate your pain, and teach you what you need to know to avoid it in the future. Our chiropractors will asses your spine and identify the cause of your pain so they can correct it and prevent it from recurring.
